The JCL is our Latin Club. If you are a Latin student, you really want to be a active and current member of the JCL. If you maintain an A average, you qualify for the National Latin Honor Society, but we cannot induct you unless you are in the JCL. If you want to go to our great LatinCon in the spring, you cannot go unless you are in JCL. If you want to have multiple memberships, awards and honors to list on college applications for your Latin work, you will have far fewer unless you are in JCL. Get it? Join JCL!
Membership dues--25.00, payable by cash or check made out to Parkview High School. If you are in NLHS, dues are 28.00. You can pay your dues on Meal Pay. Pay your dues by Aug. 17 and you can come to our Beginning of the Year Pizza Party Aug. 17 in the courtyard between Building G and the Cafeteria. Your dues paid are you ticket to the party. We will have a printout from Meal Pay of those who have paid. Begins at 2:20. Ends by 3:00.

Officers
Let's replace this picture with our officers for 2011-12! At Parkview, we appoint our "consilium" of officers like this. Write us an essay telling us WHY you want to be an officer of our JCL and WHAT strengths you would bring to the team. We require the consilium to meet with us (Magistra Miklosovic and I) once a month at least--sometimes more. We expect you to take ownership of club activities: planning and leading. Those wishing to be appointed this year should submit their essays to us by August 19. We like to have 2 officers from each level (Latin 1, 2, 3, 4/AP). Sometimes, based on essays, we appoint more. Officers who find that they are unable to make meetings and follow through on responsibilities will be replaced. Your leadership is very important. We NEED you to do a good job for the entire club. PHS has one of the largest JCL's around!
