Twenty-five years of experience in humanistic and educational work, including pastoral care and counseling,  teaching Latin, Greek and Social Justice,  at the secondary and graduate level, including administrative leadership.

EMPLOYMENT

Present          Latin Teacher, Parkview High School, Gwinnett County Public Schools, Lilburn, GA

                        Teach Latin I-IV.  Sponsor local chapter of Junior Classical League.  Activities include 6 certamen teams at three levels, weekly Greek

                        reading classes for members of the JCL, participation in Gwinnett County Certamen Championship,  Fall Forum, and state JCL,  varied social and cultural activities for club members.

 

2003-2005    Latin Teacher, Coweta County School System, Newnan, GA

Employed by CCSS to  develop a system wide Latin program.  Initiated a pilot program in one middle school this past year, and facilitated establishment of a middle school language program including full year Latin in three middle schools and French and Spanish in two middle schools, tripled  high school enrollment for 2004-05 in Latin; added  advanced courses in Latin at the high school level; recruited 4 additional Latin teachers for the school system for 2004-05;  participated in the creation of a system wide vision for World Languages using humanistic approach to language acquisition.

 

2001-2003    Latin Teacher, Mountain Brook Junior High School and High School

Expanded junior high Latin program  to include multiple kinds of learners and tripled the junior high program;  established an advanced Latin course at the junior high level; taught Latin courses at the high school level for alternative and challenged learners.

                                        Taught   graduate courses in the theology program including biblical language (Koine Greek)

                        and literatures, literary criticism; spirituality, ethics  and social justice.
